Nectar Artist Joseph Interview | @kev_inthecorner @_godaddeth @trackstarz

Joseph is an artist you need to hear

Up and coming artist, Joseph, is someone you will remember. With the release of his new project, ‘The Purpose Within,’ he brings his unique sound and delivery to the masses.

Here’s a glimpse into the young legend in the making….

How long have you been making music?

I started producing music when I was in 10th Grade but I put out my first song on Soundcloud about 5 years ago now. So about 5-6 yrs.

What do you want people to take away from your new album ‘The
Purpose Within?’

What I want people to take away from the album is that the same God who made the earth with all of its variety, made each one of us with all of our variety. God has his hand in every single part of us and he made us the way he did for a reason. That includes the characteristics that usually people do not see. There is a purpose within all of us.

Do you think the fact that you’re an engineer as well gives you an edge as an
artist /producer? if so, in what way?

Definitely! It’s because you don’t only know about how to record correctly but also what you want your sound to be like and how to do that. And that way you don’t even really have to try and reflect the idea to other people and hope they get it. You can just do it yourself without a price for time or anything.

Who are some of your musical influences?

I kind of have a lot. Drake would be first, Bryson Tiller, Kanye, some Travis Scott. And when it comes to the beats I like or the producer style, I’m influenced a lot by PlayboiCarti, Don Toliver, and Ryan Trey.

Your last project ‘Man of Many Colors’ was really dope, what were
you trying to get across with that one?

On ‘Man of Many Colors’ I just wanted to convey what the life of Joseph in the bible (Joseph with the coat of many colors) would be like if he were living today. I also felt like the story resonated with me because I understood somewhat how Joseph felt through my own experiences.

What do you want people to remember about you as an artist and producer?

I want people to remember me as the guy who was the most ordinary person ever in the world, but still did something that is extraordinary. I don’t pose as some guy you don’t see everyday. I pose as an average person on purpose. Everyone should know that the people they walk by every day have been uniquely made by God and everyone ought to know that God will use them right now. Not just the people who have a big story behind them.
