Then a demon-possessed man, who was blind and couldn’t speak, was brought to Jesus. He healed the man so that he could both speak and see. The crowd was amazed and asked, “Could it be that Jesus is the Son of David, the Messiah?” But when the Pharisees heard about the miracle, they said, “No wonder he can cast out demons. He gets his power from Satan, the prince of demons.” Jesus knew their thoughts and replied, “Any kingdom divided by civil war is doomed. A town or family splintered by feuding will fall apart. And if Satan is casting out Satan, he is divided and fighting against himself. His own kingdom will not survive.

Matthew 12:22-26 NLT

It’s interesting that when you get on a path how sometimes folks can come out of the woodwork to throw you off track. Some people can seemingly be a deterrent, but they’re really there to help you. While others smile in your face and really there to knock you off course. Then you have those who just flat out tell you that what you’re doing is all wrong. Because it doesn’t fit in the context of their narrative they say that it’s wrong, evil, worldly or down right sinful. You know the church folk can be good for calling someone worldly. It’s all good though. Keep pushing.

We see Jesus even ran into this obstacle from the Pharisees and Saducees aka the church folk. It’s always easy to point the finger at others for what you think they’re doing or not doing. Even if it’s the right thing to do. Jesus was walking in His direct marching orders from God the Father. People had a problem with it, because it messed with the things they set up in their worlds to make them comfortable. They weren’t solely about the kingdom. The merely used God as a front to push their own agendas.

Now when someone came along who was about kingdom business they questioned every move. Now a man who was going about teaching about the kingdom of God and healing people is being accused of having a devil in Him. Think about it. The King of kings and Lord of lords Jesus the Christ was accused of being demonic. My grandmother used to tell me, “They talked about Jesus and He was perfect. They’re definitely going to talk about you.”

The stage is set. You’re ready to step out into what God has called you to do and there are going to be folks who question it. Some for genuinely good reasons and others with hidden motives. You have to be bold in this walk, because people are going to question you. Some may even be able to persuade you that it isn’t godly. Take all of your concerns to the Master. His Spirit lives in you. He will lead you and guide you into all truth. Follow His voice. You know that the devil has no place in you. Walk this walk of faith with assurance that God is with you.

That leads us to our Throwback Song of the Week. Ms. Natalie Lauren is getting some shine 2 weeks in a row. This time it’s a group effort. In 2012 she teamed up with Swoope, Sho Baraka and Courtney Orland fka JR. The combined to create the High Society Collective. They only released one album entitled “Circa MMXI – The Collective.” The featured track is entitled “Devil.” The song basically talks about how they’ve been accused of doing the works of the devil by doing hip hop music. Tune into Trackstarz this week so you can hear DJ Jeremaya spin this for the Throwback Song of the Day. Until next time…

Peace and blessings,

Damo
