“If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it.” Mark 8:35 NLT http://bible.com/116/mrk.8.35.nlt
Have you ever gotten lost on purpose? Like you went on a trip somewhere for a weekend or just ventured off into an area you’ve never been before just to see what was there? You just got really curious and said, “I’m going to go check this place out.” That’s what I call a good kind of lost. It’s more so just being adventurous trying to find something new, but you’re lost because you really don’t know where you’re going.
This is what came to mind as I thought on what I would write on for this next article. I thought about 2 aspects of being lost. The first I’ve mentioned already and then the fact that we as Christians were once lost in sin. The similarity in both is at some point you have no real sense of direction. Just wandering and not really knowing where you were going.
The devil had us deceived and got us on a path. He eventually makes us think we know what we’re doing and where we’re going, but we are totally lost. God on the other hand looks for us to get lost in Him. While at first seeming foreign He gives us direction by His Spirit and leads us and guides us into all truth. (John 16:13 NLT http://bible.com/116/jhn.16.13.nlt) Jesus basically tells us in this verse either way you’re going to lose your life. Better to lose it in a way that is to your benefit. Rather than lose it because we tried by our own limited means to save it lose it to Christ and gain life.
Now tying this to our throwback track of the week. It’s from a 2012 release from Canton Jones and the Cajo Records camp called “Kingdom Business 4“. A compilation album featuring various artists from Erica Cumbo, Jor’dan Armstrong and of course Canton Jones. This particular track features rappers Crane & A1. This track is a banger! So if you love to get lost in God on a track that’s just crazy then this one is for you. Lose it! Check it out and let us know what you think. Until next time…
Peace and blessings
