For months, if not longer we have been inundated with this coming election (as we are each term via various media outlets, which is ok, as I believe it is an extra way to become educated…as long as it is not the propaganda commercials lol) with whom we should vote for and why. Over the past few weeks, I have listened and had various discussions with folks at work, church, in the community, with my family and friends regarding this coming election. I wish I had taken video and created a Vlog. A lot of folks are torn for various reason and others have a clear view. With all that was said and respecting each persons views, this coming week I still believe we have our duty/privilege, service, responsibility, and our fought for right to vote for the next President of the United States (yes it is all those things). 🙂
In all of history, this year’s election is a very difficult one based on all we have seen and heard from each candidate, but even in this difficult election, I believe it shouldn’t stop us from casting our vote. People have gone before us and died for the right to vote and in the midst of difficult situations throughout history and ones we potentially face on a daily a daily basis, we can’t just throw in the towel all together and forget all that it stands for. When things get tough or a decision is hard to make, we can’t just take a back seat and not make one. Or we can’t make the excuse that we don’t know, when we can educate ourselves. I know sometimes it can be overwhelming with the plethora of info, but a lot of it is broken down noted with key points for you when you research the information. I think it’s also important to research if we want to have a say in future happenings in our nation, because if we didn’t have a hand in our countries election, we really shouldn’t comment. I believe if we are unsure, we can pray to An All Knowing God for wisdom. I truly don’t think God would have us not vote but to take action in prayer (praying for all the candidates on the ballot), and educated ourselves. Regardless of who wins, God still Reigns and has not removed His Hand from this earth…because of that we can have peace in the outcome. Let’s have faith, and take action trusting in God to make a way out of no way. He has done it in the past, present and will do it again. And to whom ever wins, we should pray for that individual continually.
God we pray for all who are running and Lord we pray You would speak Your Wisdom to all our hearts. Father no matter who is elected, You are King and will Reign Forever. We thank You Father and we pray for those that don’t know You, that they will come to know You. In Jesus Name, Amen.
As a reminder and one more thought:
Nov 8th, 2016 is voting day. If you are not registered to vote or need to know your pooling location, head over to vote.org for more information. You can go to the polls on that very day and register as well with proof of residency. Don’t let not being registered on that day stop you. 🙂 You have earned this right and live in a free country that a lot of people don’t live in. People in many countries are oppressed and persecuted suffering under governments they are powerless to change and governments that silence their voices. People risk their lives for freedom daily.
So much Love to you all! Let’s goooooooo!
