My family and I are growing our own garden. This is funny to me as I’ve never even been able to keep a cactus alive, but we forge on nonetheless. Every step of this process has been amazing to me! I don’t consider myself a survivalist but I do see a need for self sufficiency. Controversial as it may be, we can’t deny that at one time people largely grew and raised their own food.
I’ve been contemplating if Christians should move toward self sufficiency given this day and time that we live in. Some of us (Christians) have taken to boycotting Target because of their bathroom policy, so what will we do when the policy is widely adopted? What should be our course of action when we have to choose between our values and the law of the land?
Sometimes, obedience to God mean disobedience to man. Prospectively, disobedience to man could mean not being able to feed our families.
I think people aren’t grasping how fast our world is changing. With every day and every viral news story our access to the truth is being eroded. The end that the Bible declares is quickly coming upon us and being that we have the Bible as our guide, we should be prepared. Not all survivalist are Christians but should all Christians be survivalist? Is preparing for a time when we would have to compromise our salvation to survive wise?
These are the things we should be talking about. Our very lives depend on it.
