Failure to Plan, is a Plan to Fail (@jasonbordeaux1 @trackstarz)

I have met many individuals in my life who live day to day without planning for tomorrow. These people usually have all of their needs met. Some of them even have different “needs” compared to the others, but regardless they have all their needs for the day. I asked one of my coworkers one day why she didn’t save for retirement or really plan ahead for anything. She told me the Bible states in Matthew, “…33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34 So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” She told me she didn’t have to really plan much because God had everything lined up just the way she needs it to be. When I read this scripture, I do not see Jesus saying do not plan for anything.

Planning is different from worrying. Worrying brings stress and tension. Having a plan brings comfort, if it’s following the Holy Spirit’s guidance. God told us He knows the plans He has for us in the book of Jeremiah.  Proverbs 20:18 says “Plans succeed through good counsel; don’t go to war without wise advice.” Proverbs is talking about war in this scripture, but isn’t our whole life a battlefield? Are we not always in a spiritual war? I feel we should always have a plan, but be obedient and open to the Holy Spirit to change up our plan when needed. Jesus told us to count the costs before we become followers in Luke 14:28.

Planning is needed for all areas of life including business, ministry, education, and etc… To plan is not to worry. Planning helps to prevent worry and stress. Find good counsel and those with experience in the different areas you are trying to prepare for. Lean on the Holy Spirit and always be in communication with the Father. Plan to WIN!
