On Wednesday morning, I received a text message to pray for a family member at 1:30pm Thursday afternoon because they would be in a big meeting. So I wouldn’t forget to pray at that exact time, I set my alarm for 1:20pm. I knew whatever the outcome of the meeting, God would work it out. That very day, I called and found out the meeting was not of good news but of news that had never happened ever in this persons life. I rushed (safely) to be with my family and saw before my very eyes how God was unfolding this “bad news” into something amazing. He was and is using this news not for harm but for Good!
Last week, Mr. Monty Williams assistant coach of Oklahoma City Thunder, lost his beautiful 44 year old wife in a tragic car accident. Mrs. Williams temporarily left behind her husband Mr. Williams and 5 children. Yesterday, Mr. Williams stood in front of 900 people, including many NBA players, coaches and staff members not to bring “bad news” but news of the Love, Unity and Good Work God is doing in and through his family. Yes, it is painful but Mr. Williams encouraged everyone with several scripture promises and by stating, “God will take care of this and we can’t lose sight of the fact that God loves us.”
“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” 1 John 4:16
God truly Loves us no matter what trials we face here on earth. Jesus said, “in this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” We are just passing through this life to our real home, which is in Heaven. Be encouraged today as you watch Mr. Williams speak and continue to pray for all the families involved.
Love in Him always,
Ashley Korth
