Datin “The Roar” |Album Review|@trackstarz @Datin_TripleD @jasonbordeaux1)

The highly anticipated album from God Over Money’s Datin finally dropped on Feb 12th. It is Datin’s first album since signing to God Over Money. The Roar (Rise of a Revolution) is an album that holds nothing back.

-“The Signs (Intro)”- This album hits the ground running, as Datin describes the current ways society is integrating sin into the world. He points out that not all evil comes obvious but sometimes its hidden all around us.

-“Hallelujah All Day” is an anthem that fits rightly as one of the singles on this body of work. If you need a song to get the party jumping, then this would be a great choice.

-I was honestly surprised to hear the kind of production on “So Alive” on this album. I must say Datin took control of the techno-like beat and did a wonderful job with it. It then runs into “Off the Leash,” which many may have already heard.

-“Final Goodbye” is a great recollection of a past friendship. I enjoyed the smooth feel of this track and I was able to stay tuned and appreciate the story he was sharing.

-“Through the Eyes of a Child” is my favorite track. Featuring Dre Murray, Beleaf, and label mate Selah the Corner each artist paints a picture of different types of lives that children encounter and shares their perspective on their situations. They share different types of everyday occurrence of the good, bad, and ugly.

-“Had Enough” featuring Bizzle, shares the frustration with people disapproving of their personalities and methods of addressing current issues. Datin and Bizzle explain that some people in scriptures were tougher individuals and there is nothing wrong with being bold.

-“Long Way Down” shares some info about making it to the top of the music industry just to fall a long way down. He shared some personal experience from an encounter with Shady Records. This is a great reflection of what most people do not see what goes on in the industry behind closed doors.

-“One Body, One Spirit” speaks on the problems with division in the church as a whole. It shows the importance of staying together to fight against the enemy.

This album was not disappointing in any way. I encourage all of my brothers and sisters to go support Datin and buy this album. It is a great start to a new year for GOM.
