What is going on everyone!! I do apologize for the unusual timing of this article. But here we are; back at it again. A couple days ago, I went to Skyzone with my girlfriend. It was an awesome experience, and I would recommend everyone to try it out!! It is a huge trampoline park and they have dodgeball and basketball, two of my favorite activities to do there.
While we were jumping, I was looking around. I noticed a lot of little kids doing backflips and just testing out their flexibility on this new kind of surface they weren’t used to. As I was in the air, it struck me: Why can’t I be like these kids? Excited to try new things, whether I was afraid or not. Why is it that we are so afraid to jump high (dreaming big and working at those dreams)? It’s crazy thinking about it that we can learn such life oriented lessons from little kids.
I think fear of failure plays such a hindering role in our lives. I can easily be afraid of heights, because when I am in the air, I don’t have total control of my safety. That is where trust comes in; trust that I will land safely, and to loosen up so that I can be safe, but to also enjoy the new atmosphere of my feet being off the ground. That probably sounds crazy and weird, but think about it for a second. You learn new things about what you can achieve when placed in a new atmosphere. There is no sense in living life in fear of what may happen. Try it out!! Break out of the norm, and have fun!!
Being in the air, I would get a rush of adrenaline, and I wanted to go higher and higher. Even though my fear of heights was still very much present in that moment, the excitement of conquering that fear gave me the desire to go higher. Take that into real life. You may be afraid how something will turn out. Don’t be!! Of course move with wisdom, but also just see what happens. Give God something to bless.
I know this article isn’t anything super deep and astounding, but it is a refresher to live life outside of fear, and to reach as high as I want to go. I hope this helps encourage us all!!
