Review of “Heaven EP” By Jimi Cravity @RyGuy92 @trackstarz @itsJIMIcravity

New Music Alert!!! The newest signee to Six Steps Records/CapitolCMG, Jimi Cravity, has released “Heaven EP” yesterday. This EP is aesthetically pleasing in every sense. He achieves a vibe that is relatable for any kind of audience. He goes from a worship style, to a basement live performance style, to a TobyMac flavored sounding project. The project is 7 songs, so for those who don’t have great attentions spans like myself, this project assists in not being too much to take in.

I love this album, not only because Jimi helps lead praise and worship at Passion City Church, but he thoroughly covers the definition of artistry. I honestly thought I would only repeat one song, Beacon, but I love how he doesn’t cater to just one audience. Jimi says that, “When I think of Heaven I think of Rock n’ Roll, Thunder, Lightning, Power, Might, and Pure Worship.” This statement accurately describes this EP, as every song has a different tone to it, but those different tones and vibes mesh so perfectly well to present a message of the love of the Father, and how accepted we are by God.

As a hip hop fanatic, this project was a good change for me. Jimi is extremely creative and simply gives his perception of Christ in the way that he likes. The production of this project is astounding. Every song sounds amazing live, as I have heard three of the songs live previously. I would have to say my favorite songs are Beacon, Prada, Surrender, and Believe. I would definitely recommend this album to my Christian and non-Christian friends. It is hard not to like this project.
