I will RISE!! | @ryanmw92 @trackstarz

What is going on everyone!! So, this week I’m switching it up a little bit. My amazing girlfriend Jess wrote this piece. It’s a letter to a friend that did her wrong. This letter is so amazingly written, but the bigger picture is that it beautifully shows transparency, grit, and the spirit of strength to overcome feelings of being hurt and neglected by a friend. I hope this encourages us all to find strength in trials, and that it is okay to write your feelings out to help you overcome trials.

To the person I once knew,

Life is wild and crazy like a rollercoaster. Some parts are fast and thrilling, and other parts will have you screaming for your momma, begging to get off.

My life has been amazing this past year. I’m not quite sure what you expected when you texted me that day in June. You did the same thing you always do. You said a lot of things and took a lot of it away. You left me standing there when the dust cleared.

But guess what??

I ROSE!! Even more than that, I continue to RISE. I have this newfound strength inside of me that I didn’t even know I had. Your comments hurt. Blocking me is stupid. We are adults. If you can’t stand to see my face or you have no interest in regrowing our friendship, then you shouldn’t have even texted me to begin with. Our friendship was rocky, but then it go to be so great. I wish it could have stayed amazing.

I feel exposed and betrayed, BUT scars will heal.

I wish you nothing but the best in your life and future marriage, and I pray God reveals Himself in a major way to you. If one day you decide to reach back out and explain, I will be more than happy to listen. I just can’t continually going through this cycle.

Sincerely,

The girl who tried so hard

Friendships are hard. They don’t always turn out how we expect them too, and sometimes people just leave. That hurts more than we can bear, but in those times, we need to turn to God who is our Perfect Comforter, and the friends we have as well. This letter is so real and genuine, and it shows the hurt, but it also shows the ability to rise from the ashes. I hope this encourages and challenges us all to be open and honest with our feelings, and to reach out for God when we go through these things.

Much Love,

Ryan W.
