He Gotcha #TBT | Throwback Theology | @everydayprocess @macthedoulos @izrealep @damo_seayn3d @trackstarz

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones.”

Proverbs 3:5-8 NLT

I was having a conversation with a friend of mine yesterday and she really encouraged my soul. I was trying to check in on her, because she was in the hospital. I’m sure that was encouraging to her, but it ended up being a big encouragement for me. We got into a conversation about trusting God. She said she had to come to a realization to give it all over to God. Now as and as cliche as that may sound this is where it got heavy. She says to me, “It’s not easy to do that, because we like to be in control.”

We as people really do like to feel we are in charge of how our life goes. We get thrown for a loop, because the varying situations of life show how much we’re really not in control. Not to say we don’t have certain responsibilities we take care to make sure things get done. We are all definitely accountable to uphold and maintain our responsibilities, but we are not puppet masters of this fragile thing called life that we live. It is in these times of life that we are to cling close to the cross of Christ and trust God.

Not just that He will make the bad things go away and not always that God will make it better. Sometimes the bad things won’t go away and that thing won’t get better. The important thing is knowing that God is with you. We typically only hear this name and saying around Christmas, but it applies all of the time. Christ is Emmanuel – God with us. God with us is all we really need. God + me= Majority. Whether we want to accept it or not we as Christians are called to suffer. If we suffer with Christ then we shall also reign with Him.

I’m not saying we ought to live a woe is me type of life. I’m saying we are to live a life that trusts God and is dependent on His leading and guidance to take us through the highs and the lows of life. As we trust God He looks at us and says, “I gotcha!” This isn’t a one way thing. As we continue to lean on Him and He shows us that He is always faithful; God empowers us with boldness to do the same for Him. When He calls to serve Him we can look back at God and say, “I gotcha!” God is always faithful to do what He says. The least we can do is obey God with a heart of gratitude.

No matter what it is that we face we can be confident that God is with us. We are children of the Most High God and He is an ever present help in times of trouble. Troubles in front of us may cause us to be afraid and that’s ok. Step out on faith, do it afraid and watch God work. He’s got you.

That leads us to our Throwback Song of the Week. We’re heading over to Cross Movement Records to some brothers out of Philly. The duo Everyday Process featuring Mac The Doulos and Izreal. This is from their 2009 album entitled “Outtadisworld”. The featured track is “I Gotcha”. Check out the song and drop a comment about times you’ve had to let go and trust God or how this song speaks to you. The team is headed to Tampa, FL to Flavor Fest this week. It should be an awesome time together with saints sharpening one another and fellowshipping together. Until next time…

Peace and blessings,
Damo
