BABYTOOTH is Kaden Jordan’s debut album under his recent signing to label Alienz Alive, an album born out of personal struggles and a yearning to make an album that would not only impact people but would also be something that represented who he is as an artist.
Kaden originally had a different album he was working on but didn’t like the direction it was going in so he scrapped that, in the process of doing that he started working on the album that would become BABYTOOTH.
I got to meet Kaden back in May, hear some of the songs on the album and most importantly hear his heart behind the album and that’s what stuck with me the most. He wants this album to show people that they’re not alone, that it’s okay to go through life and experience things because that experience helps you grow in your relationship with God ultimately losing your baby teeth and growing closer in your walk with God.
Thematically and sonically this is one of the most well put together projects out there, Kaden doesn’t limit himself to one genre as we see throughout the album, we go from hype songs to love songs to rage to introspective, the interludes on the project work extremely well in transitioning into the next track.
Lyrically we see Kaden at his best, BABYTOOTH is the result of someone maturing in their faith, letting go of things they’ve held onto and ultimately strengthening their relationship with God. Kaden explores grief, love and a desire for God to shape him into the person he wants to be, with tracks like “SET ME ON FIRE”, “A BETTER HEAVEN”, “ALL I NEED”, “REST” and “WE’RE GETTING OLD”, we see a different side of Kaden.
One that presents him at his most vulnerable, with these songs representing honest prayers and conversations with God to change him, help him draw closer to God and to show him that God is all he needs.
Tracks like “ROCKSTAR” and “WIRED” showcase the confident side of Kaden, being confident in his calling on his life and confident in his faith in God, “IMAGE” shows the importance of being made in God’s image and making sure you’re representing it well.
“BLUFF” and “OTW” are love songs, showcasing Kaden’s singing abilities as well as his ability to master any genre, with CHVCHO serving as executive producer for the album, having produced most of it, he also had help from OkayWarren, Scootie Wop, Kriiispy and CHRSTFFER on production while Kaden self mixed and engineered the album.
