BenRodz’s Artist of the Week: MVRCO

Hello everyone and welcome back to the latest installment of my Artist of the Week series, the first installment in this series for this year, I intend to keep this series going on a bi-weekly basis.

I have a really special guest this week, an upcoming artist who got his start doing video work for other artists before venturing into making his own music. I’m proud to have MVRCO featured on this week’s installment, he’s been putting in the work ever since I first met him at Holy Smoke! last year and I couldn’t be more excited to see where the future takes him.

Hailing from Miami, Florida, MVRCO made his debut as an artist on October 3, 2025 with the release of his debut single “Nothing”, MVRCO was known previously for his extensive work as a videographer and music video director, having done a lot of work with different artists filming content and music videos for them.

When asked about he got his start on video work, Marco said this:

“Before I ever became an artist, I was already deeply involved in visual creativity. My first real exposure came around the age of 14, when a close brother of mine was directing his first full-length film. I had the opportunity to assist him on multiple occasions and sit in on parts of his workflow and editing process. Seeing the behind-the-scenes side of storytelling sparked my curiosity and drew me into the creative space.

At the beginning of 2024, things began to align more clearly with music. I connected with artists like JayR., K-SEE, and SOUTH SIDE T3D, and had the opportunity to create visuals for Souls Fest 2024. That moment became a springboard for me working as a visual creative within the Christian hip-hop space. K-SEE, in particular, saw my potential early on and gave me my first opportunity to create promotional reels for his music.

Another major turning point was connecting with Tuví and shooting nearly all the visuals — both photo and video — that came out of the T Time writing camp. During that camp, I connected with Kaden Jordan, who trusted me enough to co–creative direct his project Calamity. Since then, more doors have opened, including opportunities like partially shooting and editing the music video for “NU DISCIPLES” by KRIIISPY.”

Having such a strong passion for music and already having creative experience it was only a matter of time before MVRCO turned that passion into creating his own art.

MVRCO stepped into becoming an artist at the age of 21 in 2024, having been inspired by his friends who were also artists to start making his own music, he’s started the rollout for his debut album entitled MADE NEW, with the release of three singles, MVRCO is making sure that every step he makes is intentional, when asked about his upcoming album he had this to say:

“At its core, the project tells the story of my personal testimony, but it’s framed in a way that’s meant to be relatable beyond just my own experience. It walks through the tension between knowing what’s right and still being drawn to what’s destructive — and what it looks like to wrestle with that honestly.

The album follows a full emotional and spiritual arc. It starts with a cry for help — recognizing that I’m heading down a path that doesn’t align with who I’m called to be — and moves into the internal conflict of wanting change while still being attached to old habits and sin. There are moments of numbness, reflection, doubt, and even questioning whether forgiveness is still possible after repeated failure.

Sonically, MADE NEW blends hip-hop, R&B, and experimental textures to match the emotional weight of the story. It’s raw, reflective, and intentional — not a highlight reel, but an honest journal of transformation.”

MVRCO lists artists such as Jon Keith, Kanye West, Andy Mineo, Weathrman and WHATUPRG as his main inspirations for making music also inspiring him to write meaningful music.

When asked what lies ahead of him as an artist MVRCO said this:

“This year marks a big step forward for me. On March 20, I’m throwing my first live event — an album listening experience for MADE NEW. It’s more than just a listening party. There will be guest performers opening the night, followed by a full front-to-back listen of the project. It’s special to me because it’s not only my first event as an artist, but also the first event officially sponsored by my record label, FusionFreq Records.

Beyond the listening event, I’m focused on performing more and continuing to build momentum around the project. I also have more music coming later this year, but I’m being intentional about not revealing too much just yet. I want the work to speak when the time is right.”

With a unique sound and quality lyrics, MVRCO is an artist you want to invest in now before he blows up and overall I couldn’t think of a better pick to jump start this series off this year than with someone as multi talented as MVRCO.

On a final note I asked MVRCO how does doing creative work for other artists inspire his work as an artist and he had this to say:

“Being both an artist and a creative has elevated my artistry in a major way. At the core of any artistic space is communication — if you can’t clearly communicate a vision, everything becomes muddy. Wearing both hats has taught me how to speak both languages fluently.

When I’m creating content for other artists, my experience as an artist allows me to communicate more effectively in the moment. I understand how artists think during performances, shoots, and recording sessions, so I can direct them in a way that feels natural instead of forced. That shared understanding makes collaboration smoother and more intentional.”

MVRCO is one of the best upcoming artists I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, from his work for others as a videographer to the work he puts in for his own music, Marco showcases class and proves that he’s here to stay, paving his own lane and staying intentional with every drop.

Make sure to keep an eye out for his new single “FADED”, dropping February 27th, you can drop him a follow here and stream his music here so you can keep up to date with any new releases or any news he has.
