Hello everyone and welcome back to this week’s Artist of the Week segment, today we have an upcoming Christian artist who goes by the name of Mica.
Hailing from New York, Mica finds himself being one of few CHH artists from the state, Mica seeks to tell as many people as possible about God through his music.
When asked what inspired him to make music Mica had this to say:
“my inspiration flows from the very Word of God, for as it is written, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1). the poetry of Christ—the parables He spoke, the psalms that prophesied Him, and the wisdom that echoes through eternity—has stirred my soul to speak His truth in rhythm and rhyme.
like David, who played the harp before the Lord, and like Paul and Silas, who sang praises even in chains (Acts 16:25), i believe music carries a divine anointing. it is a weapon of warfare, a testimony of grace, and a bridge between heaven and earth. my gospel rap is my offering, my voice crying in the wilderness, preparing hearts to receive the King. just as the prophets of old declared truth through poetry and song, i am called to proclaim the Gospel in a way that reaches this generation.”
It’s refreshing to find someone with such a clear vision of not only who they want to be as a person and as an artist but most importantly how called and led they are by God and how they apply that to their art.
Clocking in at 645 monthly listeners, roughly around 132k streams and having made his debut in 2023, Mica proves that not only is he grinding to get to the place where he’s at now but that he still hasn’t unlocked his true potential.
When asked about what some of his plans for the future are, Mica said this:
“this year, my mission remains steadfast: to continue dropping music that glorifies Christ and reaches the lost. Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit your works to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” my commitment is to let every beat, every lyric, and every song be an altar where God’s presence dwells.
i also seek to learn more about music—not just the craft, but the ministry behind it. Hosea 4:6 warns, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge,” so i desire wisdom to sharpen my gift, expand my reach, and refine my message. whether through studying production, understanding the industry, or growing in my faith, I trust the Holy Spirit to guide my steps.
ultimately, 2025 is a year of building, sowing, and trusting. i move forward with faith, knowing that just as Jesus multiplied the loaves and fish, He will multiply the impact of my music.”
Mica is an artist that’s underrated and underappreciated and he is 100% an artist you don’t want to keep sleeping on, with only six songs in his discography and much more in store for the future, now’s the time to check him out before he blows up.
If you’re rocking with him, make sure to drop Mica a follow here and stream his music here, and as always make sure to check out this playlist I update with a few of my favorite songs from the artists featured on this series, until next time God bless.
