I recently sat down for another installment of the “Independent Artist Spotlight” with H-Town’s finest rapper/singer sensation, Jai Lynn. I was already impressed with the body of work that he has put out, but nothing tells me more about a man than a face-to-face conversation. And believe me when I say I was impressed with TikTok phenom who has already gone viral on the platform.
I was afforded a sneak peek of his new single, “Lay My Life Down” and whoa, what a banger! I can easily see his 10,000+ monthly listeners on Spotify going crazy over this one! The song was so real and so honest! If you haven’t heard his independent artist spotlight yet, make that the next thing you do after reading this article!
In my humble opinion, the young boy has a heater in his bag with this one. Jai Lynn delivers a steady dose of bars complimented by an unbelievably catchy vibe. Something that stood out to me and impressed me was that the hook blended in with the song. I had to listen to the song about six times before I noticed the craftiness of the blend. Throughout the track, Jai Lynn tells a story that takes you on a visual journey that you can picture in your head. It places you in the story and you find parts that any man or woman can relate to.
All in all, I thought this song was fantastic! I was so impressed with the production, the beat selection, and the vibe that it left me with. I encourage you to stream it for yourself and form your own opinion!
