I recently sat down with Lil Luke for the Independent Artist Spotlight. I told you in my last review this young man is something really special. At only 8 years old, Lil Luke has had such a dynamic impact on Christian Hip-Hop. I had a blast speaking with him about his childhood, his music, and most importantly his love for Jesus at such a young age. I’m excited to follow his career over the next few years to see what the Lord does with him.
This morning Lil Luke released his latest video “Big Steppa”. This review is for that video. In my interview I questioned Luke about who was responsible for his drip! Lil Luke has a swag pretty much all on his own. I have an 8-year-old and I don’t see kids her age dressing to impress. I’m glad this was a review of the video more so than just the song. I’m willing to bet 9 out 10 times the video will be viewed before the review is read, lol…
Now you can join me in applauding this young man for a job well-done. There was so much I enjoyed about this video. I’ll start with the imagery. The visuals were on point! I loved that the video looks to have been shot at the beach. The location was a great call by the director. The kids dancing underneath and on top of the pier was a nice effect. The song itself was already a hit, so to marry it to the visuals was a win, win for Luke. The choreography was great as well! I’ve always enjoyed when young kids can coordinate and make it look easy.
