I recently sat down to listen to “That’s That Love” a single by Mr. Jae Tyson. I was excited to review this song after listening to Mr.Jae Tyson’s solo album debut “That Now”(New Oily Worship. Mr. Jae Tyson brings me back to a familiar sound, a blend of quartet music and R&B. It’s a nostalgic place to revisit because as a child I enjoyed music from “The Canton Spirituals” to Lee Williams and the Spiritual QC’s. If you listen to the entire 13-single project, You’ll hear a delectable beat selection that you would expect popular classic R&B groups like “Jagged Edge” or “Guy” to have selected. However, this rendition is much better because it pays homage to our Father of Lights in Heaven, and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
His blend of praise and worship is so proper and fitting for an artist like Mr. Jae Tyson whose creativity and background spans from having worked with exceptional artists such as Gloria Estefan, and the late greats Betty Wright and Phyllis Hayman, to name a few.
It was time for me to press play on “That’s That Love” Immediately I was welcomed to the celebration of Jesus’ love. Mr. Jae Tyson will never disappoint. He brings the groove in on every track especially. But on this track, I felt it in my feet almost immediately. I loved the vocal arrangement too! It was soothing to sit back and listen to it hit my heart. If you’re a fan of retreating to your imaginary quiet place, then picture your feet up with a glass of lemonade (sweet tea if you’re from the South like me), and “That’s That Love” is the
current song playing from your playlists. It’s that peaceful, calming music where you let go of the stresses of life and let Jesus take the wheel and you enjoy letting Him take that pressure off you.
The hook is what everyone looks forward to in a song. It centers you and brings you in because if it’s catchy enough, it will keep ministering to your spirit long after the song ends. That’s the feeling I was left with after hearing the hook, Jesus is that love. That unconditional, undying, never leave you, never forsake you kind of love. Throughout the song, Mr. Jae Tyson reminds us of His perfect love.
Make sure you stay tuned! We got more coming from Mr. Jae Tyson. Next month I get to sit down and do my next installment of the “Independent Artist Spotlight” interview with him. I’m excited about this one because I’m always encouraged by a powerful testimony from the hand of God. Mr. Jae Tyson has a remarkable testimony that you won’t want to miss.
