Battle rapper, rapper, and singer songwriter, Th3 Saga, has had an incredible run. While most may know him from his battles, he also makes incredible music as well. A little while ago he posted that he was going to stop being afraid to put out his music and step forward in confidence. And what did he release? An amazing single called “Royalty.”
There’s been a stigma that battle rappers can’t make good music, but Th3 Saga and B Dot are the exception. After giving the battle rap community arguably one of the best battles this year, the two emcees turn around and give us a song that we desperately need. The two set aside their religious differences in the spirit of unity to tell black people we are “Royalty.”
The message behind the song is that black people are royalty. You wouldn’t be able to tell that from the news and centuries of oppression, but that statement is still true. The people need music that speaks to the soul and to the times, and this single does that.
