I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

John 17:20-23 NKJV

This week we honored the lives of those who died from the incidents of 9/11 in 2001. One of the most tragic events in the history of our country. We mourn the loss of those lives and we celebrate the impact of those people while they were here. Also, giving honor to the first responders who risked their lives to help those in danger.

As tragic of an incident as it was there is a silver lining in the midst of it all. I sum it up with one word – Community. People from all walks of life came together to support each other. Even in the aftermath of this event people share stories of where they were when this happened and the experiences that they had. One of the darkest days in human history is able to bring light to our lives through community.

It is so even with us in the church. There can be so much divisiveness, but there is more that unites us than what we allow to divide us. We are all different, but we are all the same. We come from different places, different walks and grew up in different homes with different rules. Yet a person from New Jersey and a person from Australia can have so much in common. I believe this is the working of God Almighty.

God even in the beginning, staring with Adam, said it was not good for man to be alone. He began the start of community. We all go through different challenges, struggles and even good times, but having people you care about with you makes it so much better. God saves us one soul at a time, but gives us a body of believers to help us to grow and develop in our walk with God.

That leads us to our Throwback Song of the Week. This one comes from Courtney Orlando fka J.R. This is from his 2007 project entitled “Life By Stereo.” The featured track is called “Ridaz” and features Da’ T.R.U.T.H., iZReal (Everyday Process) & Trip Lee. Tune into the Trackstarz show this week to hear DJ Jeremaya spin this song for the Throwback Song of the Day. Until next time…

Peace and blessings,
