Prayer: Intimate Communication | @ryanmw92 @trackstarz

What’s going on everyone. The article this week is tough for me. It’s tough because the very thing I’m writing about is something I’ve been honestly struggling with recently. I’ve noticed that I have been putting prayer time with God on the back burner. I honestly hate that I’ve been neglecting communicating with God, but that vulnerability is the exact place where God can meet us all in.

Prayer is so essential to our daily walk because when we pray, we are in divine communication with God. This plays such a huge role because if we are to be able to hear God’s voice, then it begins with spending time in communication. I relate this to having friendships. You can’t learn about your friends unless you spend intentional time with them. My friend Paul said something so major: he said, “It’s like if I lost my mom at a busy store and she hollered my name, I would know it was her because I’m familiar with her voice. I want to be familiar with God’s voice in the same way”.

We see in Scripture that Jesus would constantly go off to pray. Especially after doing miracles, Jesus would go by Himself to pray to refresh Himself and to continually grow in His purpose. The same goes for us. We experience so much trauma and negativity in the world today, and we need to get back to the necessity of spending time in prayer. It is in that time that we gain peace and refreshment for our souls in the midst of trial.

Prayer doesn’t always have to be super long and filled with “biblical language”. Prayer is being vulnerable with God, and allowing God to meet us in the place of uncertainty. It’s honestly saddening that we feel we can go days without talking to our Maker. It’s a necessity to know God’s voice to lead us and guide us, and prayer is a main way to do that. I really challenge us all to spend genuine time in prayer and communication with God, so that our faith will grow and we will be able to stay aware of God’s presence and hand in our lives.

Much Love,

Ryan W.
