What’s going on everyone!! So, this week, I was just thinking on this topic line: There is so much more to Jesus than just being saved from hell. We weren’t just saved so that we could avoid eternal wrath. Our thinking needs to be elevated. The whole reason Jesus came to earth, was so that we could have a PERSONAL ENCOUNTER with Him. Every day, we get to wake up to a second by second encounter with the King of Kings. That is mind-blowing!! We were created to not just endure life or to breeze through it until we get to heaven. We get to have heaven on earth!! We can have that same joy even on this earth.
It is not an accident that Jesus says, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). This means that yes, we will go through some rough, terrible things, but even in the midst of trial and adversity, we can still take heart because God has overcome them. Breaking it down even more, that means that because the power of God is in us, our mindsets need to switch from being a victim of the situation, to a victor of the turbulence. When an airplane hits turbulence, it doesn’t just stop or land. The pilot guides it above the turbulence, and continues toward the destination. The same thing applies to life. We need to have the higher thinking that we will not be destroyed by negative circumstances. We will press onward towards the calling that Jesus has for us. We have a higher purpose.
Instead of automatically complaining about the bad stuff that is going on, resolve instead to rejoice that you have the victory over that thing, and that nothing will stop you from reaching the call of Christ, just like how nothing separates God from loving you continually. We need to have higher thinking about our higher purpose. Our mindset can’t be “I want to get people saved so that they don’t go to hell”. I am sorry, but that isn’t good enough. It isn’t enough to just avoid the bad. Our mindset needs to be that we want people to see and experience Jesus in a crazy deep way so that their life can experience fullness of joy. This walk goes so much deeper than just avoiding sin and hell. It should reach to the joy that we get to embark on every day. We need something to look forward to while on this journey of life, and for me personally, it isn’t enough to just say, “well I won’t go to hell and I get to go to heaven when I die”. That honestly is super boring. I don’t know about you, but I want to experience the anointing and the joy NOW. I want to have that same kind of encounter that Moses had on the mountain NOW. We need to have a higher mindset about our higher purpose.
Much Love,
Ryan W.
