Steven Malcolm AKA “Montego Malcolm” has been gearing up for the full length release of his project ‘The Second City.’ He’s been making moves such as visiting the homeland of his father Jamaica, as well as releasing dope pictures of his surroundings. Malcolm recently released the music video for the title track “The Second City” which looks like it was shot in Jamaica. The video appeared on BET Jams as well, which is a huge look for Steven. Mr. Malcolm had this to say about the January 25th upcoming release, “I’ve been writing this album for the last 3 years of my life. It’s become a journey through things in life I only dreamt of yet prayed for every night. How I’ve battled extreme anxiety and depression, how with new levels comes new devils, the falls and dark valleys I’ve been through. When I was 10 years old my father got busted for selling drugs and guns. He was Jamaican so they deported him back home to Montego Bay, JA. I never got to see him again….he passed away a couple years ago, which has truly broken my heart forever. I never dealt with losing a loved one especially when it’s the person I loved the most on this earth. It isn’t easy but I know there’s LIGHT that conquers the DARKNESS life throws at US! JANUARY 25th my 2nd ALBUM comes out & I am finally opening up a chapter of my life to you. I’m sharing my journey of finding my identity after growing up fatherless. Tracks 10-15 will tell the complete journey of my last 3 years. This is my story, my hope, my pain, my joy, my TRUTH. This is the Second City.”
