“Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.””
Matthew 28:18-20 NLT
Now the Christmas holiday is officially over and now we’re on the horizon of the new year. Just as quick as 2018 started we are headed into 2019. A new year with new beginnings and new adventures to embark upon. Every year has its ups and downs, but I’m sure there will be plenty to be thankful for in the coming months. Plenty that you will just have to throw your head back, look up to the Lord in Heaven and in your Mr. Brown voice just say THANK YA!!!
Of course for Christmas we talk about the ultimate gift of Christ the Lord coming in the form of a baby. How we came down from Heaven to invade our hearts by dying for our sins on the cross. Now He dwells in us by His Holy Spirit. Now He comforts us and leads us into all truth. Also, reminding us that we are children of the Most High God. Not to be taken lightly. In this dark world we need the light of the knowledge our Lord Jesus Christ.
He directs our paths and shows us the way so we can live lives that glorify Him in the earth. Now that we have allowed Christ to enter into our hearts we must take that light into our families, our neighborhoods and our cities. People are living in darkness and searching for answers. We have the light and the answer to all that ails them. It is Christ Jesus the hope of Glory.
People are stumbling around in darkness and they’re hurting. We can’t just sit on our Christian privilege and do nothing. As believers has God been good to us? Yes. Has He blessed us beyond measure? Yes. Should we celebrate that? Absolutely! What we should not do is just stop there. We should share the goodness and love of Christ that we have experienced with others so that light can shine in their hearts. That they can be impacted and changed the way we have. Christ said in John 3 that He didn’t come to condemn the world. Without belief in Him the world is condemned already. We are to come and give them the hope that we have. This is the great commission. Invade the streets with the hope of the gospel and change the world.
That leads us to our Throwback Theology Song of the Week. This week’s song features an artist by the name of Messenja. It’s the title track from his 2009 album “Take The City”. Tune into to the Trackstarz show this Saturday to hear DJ Jeremaya spin this for the #TBT Song of the Week. Until next time…
Peace and blessings,
