What is going on everyone!! This week, I just wanted to encourage us to keep pushing this week. Personally speaking, it has been a grind it out kind of week with school work and work and such, but it is so, so, so important to take intentional time with God to refresh your energy and to let Him build you up. It is so easy to get caught up in the busyness of everyday life that we can forget to refuel ourselves.
Even in scripture we see Jesus getting away from the crowds and His work to rest. In Matthew chapter 14, he says this: “Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of Him to the other side, while He dismissed the crowd. After He had dismissed them, He went up on a mountainside by Himself to pray… alone”. Rest is so key to our ministry. If we see that even Jesus took time away from doing miracles to rest Himself and refuel, shouldn’t we? I notice that with myself, that if I get too caught up in life and forget that my strength comes from God, and that I just neglect to spend time with Him, I will be more on edge and I will get frustrated a lot easier.
We need to live life full of strength and wisdom. We do this by starting our day learning from our perfect example in Jesus. When we rest in God, we will gain better vision for His heart for us, and it will help us to walk throughout our days with purpose and eyes to see people and to shine the light of Christ for others to see. As I have been reading through the New Testament, (Shoutout to my mentor Jordan Price for giving me this reading challenge) I have been really struck by the fact that Jesus wants us to be partakers of His glory. That we don’t need to wait till we die to experience Him. We get to experience a taste of what eternity with Jesus will be like, even while we are on the earth. God loves us so much, that He actually desires for us to experience Him in a new and deeper way.
I challenge us all to be intentional with time with the Lord. Also, do not forget to carve out time to just relax, and to rest. Find what helps your mind be at ease and do it. It is so essential to be at rest so that we are fueled up to handle life’s challenges. I hope you find encouragement through this. As always, if anyone needs prayer, don’t hesitate to comment below, or message me on social media (@ryanmw92).
Much Love,
