What is up everyone!! I know it has been a couple weeks since my last post, but God has been blowing up my heart about realizing the hope we have in Jesus. I believe that is a huge encouragement for most of us, if not all of us. We have a hope that we are never alone. We have such a deep rooted hope that even when we face trials, we are more than conquerors. We can have the heart set that we have a bigger purpose that doesn’t just end when we pass away. We have a bigger purpose into eternity with Jesus. I just really want to encourage us all that Jesus desires us to hope in Him. That He is a firm foundation for us to stand on.
I am reminded of the story in the Bible when Peter walked on the water. In Matthew 14, the story goes that the disciples were in the boat during a storm. Jesus told Peter to walk towards Him, to trust and hope that He would hold Peter up. As soon as Peter took his eyes off Jesus, he began to sink. Quickly, Jesus raised him up from the waters and reassured Peter that all He had to do was to trust in Him. I think this is a big lesson for us; that even when we are surrounded by the storms and murky waters of life, we have an eternal hope in Jesus. We have a confidence that He can and is able to deliver us from even the hardest times and situations.
For me personally, realizing that the enemy’s plans are for our destruction can be very disheartening. Our joy and hope can only be so easily misguided when it is based on temporal things, besides Jesus and His finished work on the cross. I am reminded by John Piper’s point of view that as long as we center our hope and joy on Jesus, it will help us to endure the attacks of the enemy with strength and trust in our Mighty Savior.
I really hope this encourages you all just like it is encouraging me writing it. I know it can be hard navigating life with such fierce opposition, but we have a stronger hope that outlasts even the most fierce attacks the enemy can bring. My goal is that we live with purpose that reaches into eternity with Jesus, so that while we are on this earth, we can experience glimpses of our eternal home.
Love y’all,
Ryan W.
