When we add in all of our daily activities (work, school, church, the gym, etc), we can get busy before we know it! Many of us may take advantage of our calendars (or google calendar) and set up a schedule that we need to work out for the week. Just as that is important for you to keep balance as well as your sanity, you should also include that same practice within your marriage. You should be not only scheduling time with your spouse, but sharing your calendar with them as well. Sometimes it can get very hard when both of you have busy schedules and kids. The lack of setting dates and times for your spouse could cause resentment or even depression. Here are some things that you should be scheduling together for:
- Date Nights
- Bill Cycles (what day bills will get paid)
- A Personal Day (where you alternate a day where you hang out with friends)
- “Intimate” Time
- Family Vacations
By doing this, you are showing that your spouse is a priority. This can also make both of you feel like you are on the same team. Start this week off right by sitting down with your spouse and setting a schedule with and for them. Spread The Soup!
