“If I had what they have, I would do this with it.” I have heard a lot of conversations revolving around other people’s possessions and abilities. This can often become a fantasy world for us. We can imagine having anyone’s status and imagine what we would do with those powers or abilities. I used to say all the time that if I had Eminem’s lyrical abilities then I would make some incredible music for God. After all this daydreaming and endless imaginary possibilities, I have to face the reality that I do not have all of those people’s talents, gifts, or possessions. I am limited to what God has blessed me with and I need to find the best way to utilize that in my life and for those around me. I had to stop doubting my abilities and understand that I would have to work hard to reach my goals. The same goes for entrepreneurs and small business owners.
It may take a while to build up a customer list or fan base. Try to remember the more followers or consumer you have, the harder it is to please them. This is why growing slow is important. You learn in the process of growth how to navigate the obstacles that are thrown your way. These are growing pains that lead to success. You may not have the most talent, money, or status, but what you do have, you can use it to your full potential. Remember if it was easy, everyone would do it. So take what you have and make the best of it.
