JAZ | Ready 2 Go Video Review | @Jazlife @Chicangeorge @Trackstarz

Growing up, I was all about “Harlem World.” Being so influenced by east coast rap, I remember being a huge fan of Q-tipCam’ron, Mase and Julez Santana to name a few. However, when I started listening to CHH, I remember finding out about J.A.Z. I remember first loving him, because of his use of an acronym for a stage name (Justified and Zealous). But the song that really caught my attention was “Ready to Go.” The production got me as soon as I heard the intro of the song! Not only did I get a good vibe from the track/video, but his verse was straight scripture. There are very few artist that can use that style and have you anticipating the next line. I enjoy how the video stayed in line with the concept of the song. We see J.A.Z. not only getting “ready to go” to heaven, but also on the mission fields (and getting others ready as well). The video was shot and edited well. The scenery used really gave that authentic Harlem/ New York feel from a Christian perspective. J.A.Z. was also one of the first men that made wearing turtle neck sweaters look good.

At the end of the day, this is a classic track and video in CHH. The bars were (and still are) hot. It is a timeless video. It is also a great ministering tool of really breaking down the gospel of Christ and his purpose within 4 minutes. J.A.Z. should be in your list of best East coast CHH emcees and this video is evidence that he is “ready to go” there. Spread The Soup!
