Camp Quest | Camp Quest Album Review | @Chicangeorge @Trackstarz

I always loved hip hop groups that were multi cultural. This would always help give different perspectives and angles about subjects on tracks. One of the best CHH Multi cultural groups was Camp Quest.  Joules, Amp, DJ and Mic T had one of my favorite southern groups back in the early 2000s. I love how they wanted fans and listeners to “get ya tents up.” This was a great anthem for believers to be ready and not be shaken in their battle on earth with the enemy. One of my favorite tracks from Camp Quest was “Camp out.”  This track felt like a true CHH cypher. Camp Quest wasn’t afraid to talk about real issues. Their track, “Single Bedsheets” spoke on sex and “Nikki,” which tells the story of a girl’s decision to become a prostitute.

As I look back at this project, I not only was great, but it came out at a right time in hip hop/CHH. We needed that voice from the south. We needed to break the stereotype that there weren’t lyrical and spiritual rappers from below the Mason Dixon line. I recall seeing them perform a couple of times and was also impressed with their stage performance. This is a great album to have and is still hot to this day. It shows how CHH has been adressing issues that still are problems now. As a believer, it’s time for us to camp out on behalf of those that are lost and bring them into the kingdom… and “Camp Quest” is the album with the soundtrack to help us do so. Spread The Soup!
