An “anthem” can be defined as a song or musical composition that is sung out of loyalty or celebration towards a group, nation, etc. Many of us are familiar with the “National Anthem” or “Born in the U.S.A.” by Bruce Springsteen for representing the United States. We also may know “We will rock you” by Queen. Almost everything around us has an anthem that reminds and represents them. One of the greatest anthems for CHH was done by R-swift with “Awesome God.”
Not only does the track have a clever sample that embodies the idea behind the song, but the lyrics give many of us a orientation and others a reminder of who God is and how awesome He is. I remember seeing R-swift perform this song at the City Takers Conference in 2011. It was amazing to see some praising and others worshiping at the same time. There were people in the building of different races, ages and sex in unity over this anthem. This was a mission accomplished for R-swift. This song will always be a apart of CHH history for its stance on the scriptures and the awesome way it was an anthem for not just CHH, but for believers all over the world forever! Spread The Soup!
