I remember being a fan of MC Jin from Freestyle Fridays on B.ET. and even following his work to Ruff Ryders. When I heard he gave his life to Christ, I was somewhat nervous. I knew that for a rapper to have that celebrity status with great battling skills and bars, it would be hard to adjust within CHH. MC Jin didn’t let me down with “Angels.” This track will go down as one of the best “Welcome to CHH” tracks from fans to an ex mainstream hip hop artist.
The video grabs you from the beginning. We see him taking it back to his roots by filming in Hong Kong. This can also be seen as symbolic of getting back to his original roots spiritually as well. The editing effects of speeding up and slowing down in the background really work in the video. It reflects how life really is. Things and people around us will rush out or hang on in our lives, but we have to stay constant and consistent. As MC Jin says in the video/track, “It’s all about moving forward.” Armed with bars and great editing, this CHH classic gem is “angelic.” Spread The Soup!
