Th3 Saga vs. Chilla Jones: A Lesson In Being Completely Healed | @th3saga @trackstarz @kennyfresh_1914

On December 12, last year at the Gramercy Theater in New York, a battle rap event took place entitled “A Perfect Day to Die.” Th3 Saga took part in it and has been making great strides in the battle rap world. His performance was great but something interesting happened in the third round. Battle Rap is known for being very personal and by personal, I mean very personal. Battle rappers are not above calling out hypocritical actions and digging into their opponent’s personal lives and airing it for the crowd to see. I’ve even seen rappers bring people from their opponent’s old neighborhoods on stage to discredit their opponent.

But what happens when your testimony is used against you? Th3 Saga is a friend of rapper Angie Rose and participated in her “Unstoppable” campaign to promote her single of the same name. During this campaign, a person said what they had been struggling with, that Jesus saved them and now they are “unstoppable.” Th3 Saga participated and gave his testimony of how Jesus delivered him from his pornography addiction and now he is unstoppable. As wonderful and amazing as that is, it is doubtful he could have imagined how his testimony would be viciously used against him.

Fast forward to December 12 and skip to the third round of Th3 Saga versus Chilla Jones and here we are. Chilla recited Saga’s testimony and then began to flip it on him, comparing the other NWX members (the battle rap clique that Th3 Saga is a part of) with Th3 Saga’s personal addiction. He then went a step further by bringing an adult magazine on to the stage and incited the crowd to count how many times Th3 Saga looked at the naked woman. Chilla kept tempting Th3 Saga and to his credit he didn’t even look once. On this big stage with cameras close to his face, Th3 Saga stayed true and didn’t buckle. How many of us could honestly say we would have held up under that pressure?

Too many times in Christianity we find ourselves prematurely saying we have been cured or freed from our trials, struggles and addictions. We think because someone prayed, we had a good shout and praise, or don’t feel those old impulses, we have been freed. Due to the numerous falls of Brothers and Sisters, something just isn’t right. Even medicine for the physical body recommends that you take it for a little while longer after the symptoms disappear. We have to be sure the root cause of our sin has been dealt with before we begin to testify, because that testimony will be tested. Not if but when we are tested, we need to be sure that we are sure that we are truly healed. Spend time with God and ask Him to truly heal you, so you can boast in Him and give Him all the glory.
