During SXSW, Dee-1 recalled a very difficult time in his life and Sway helped him through it. He talked about how Sway’s energy and spirit helped to lift him out of a desperate depression. Sway was able to discern the call on his life and led him to his “highest high.”
Dee-1 said after talking with Sway, he knew he had a purpose and encouraged his audience to find theirs.
This should serve as a point of encouragement for all of us. Whether you’ve been dealing with depression or just trying to find your purpose in life, keep the faith. God brings the right people and message in our life at the right time. If you are dealing with depression, it does not make you less of a Christian to seek medical or professional help. It does not trivialize your salvation nor is it a sign of weakness. It takes a strong person to admit they need help and seek it.
