Ephesians 6:17– “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”
A helmet is an essential piece worn in several sports and recreational activities. It protects the player or person from serious head injuries or death. We see through the years how helmets have saved lives. This same concept is equally important within the Spiritual realm.
When we come to know Christ in our lives, we have the chance to put on the Armor of God. One of the best pieces is the helmet of salvation. It protects our minds from contact with carnal ways of thinking. With all of the things going on in the world right now, (from social injustice, poverty, CHH conflict, church conflict, wars, political corruption, racism, Superbowl protests, etc) we need our helmet to protect our thinking. Our helmet will keep our minds on salvation (the act of receiving it and wanting to spread it) and the word of God. As we continue to look at the news and social media, we can see it’s not going to get better anytime soon. That’s why it’s so important to put on the whole Armor of God and most importantly…. protect your head. Spread The Soup!
