“Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?””
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:5-6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

A concept that might be hard for us to grasp in our finite minds is that God is not surprised by our sins or anything that we are dealing with. We’re not catching him off guard. It’s not a surprise that maybe that curse word came out of your mouth. Or maybe you just flat out rude to your waiter at the restaurant the other day.

Even though God isn’t surprised it isn’t a reason for us to be undisciplined in our actions. It’s our motivation to be our best. God gives us grace. It is undeserved and gives us access to God to be forgiven and cleansed in all of the areas where we fall short.

God is not looking for every reason He can to punish us. He’s made every way possible for us to receive His mercy and grace to empower us to live a life that glorifies Him. Just keep seeing after God and He is going to reward you with Himself. He will hold you down.

That leads us to our Throwback Song of the Week. This one comes from the found of Reflection Music Group – Derek Minor fka Pro. This is from his 2010 album, prior to changing his rap name to Derek Minor, “Redemption.” The featured track is called “Hold Me Down.” Tune into the Trackstarz show this week to hear DJ Jeremaya spin this song for the Throwback Song of the Day.

I just want to take a moment to dedicate this week’s article to my brother Montre Seay aka Tre Da Kid, who was recently murdered, and to my nephew Trenton Seay. My brother loved his son and along with Trenton’s mother, Quanika Hill, they were his biggest supporters. Just another example through natural parents is shown how God loves us unconditionally. Until next time…

Peace and blessings,
Damo
