I Don’t Feel Like It | @ryanmw92 @trackstarz

What’s going on everyone!! I want to begin by apologizing for not posting anything last week. To be very honest, I just didn’t feel like writing anything. I felt kinda off and tired and just busy, I didn’t discipline myself to write. I know people would say, “Ryan come on you’re better than that. You need to grow up and mature”. To that point, you’re absolutely right. As we grow, we should cast aside the old baby habits that keep us from pursuing growth. To that same point, though, I want to say this: even though I have matured, the enemy still tries to find ways to trip me up so that I ease up on my calling. But like I said, sometimes, I just don’t feel like putting in the work for things, and that’s a daily heart set I’m still overcoming.

I do want to say that that “I don’t feel like it” mentality is a silent killer. One of the guys I look up to, he’s always waking up at like 3am to go work out and to improve on his health. He asked me to go with him and I told him no. He asked me why and I said that I didn’t feel like waking up that early on my day off. He then humbled me, saying, “Ryan when you don’t feel like doing what’s necessary, you’re never going to grow and you will never reach your goals”. This wrecked me because although I’m growing, it’s so easy for me to use that excuse to remain in mediocrity. I want to call us up to push through being uncomfortable. God calls us to take up our cross to follow Him. That means that we need to lay aside our feelings so that we may be conformed to the image of God every day.

Scripture says to, “lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,” (Hebrews‬ ‭12:1‬). A lot of times when we read this, we think of the “big sins”, but this also can apply to things like pride, that thinking of ‘I don’t feel like it’, things like that too. Complacency is the enemy of growth, and that mentality is dangerous to trip us all up. I pray this challenges us to work hard and to live with strength, and regardless of how we feel, we would live with purpose and rest!!

Much Love,

Ryan W.
