Being that it’s Valentine’s Day week, I figured I’d take us back with a little Christian love song. I think sometimes we forget that falling in love with that special someone is apart of our walk with Christ as well. Jesus wants to be involved in your love life just as much, as a matter of fact, more than you do. In His word, God teaches how to first love Him more than anything and then how to love each other according to His word. That’s on all levels from our family, our friends, our neighbor and our significant other. Whether married or unmarried.
In Psalm 37:4 the Bible says, “Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” (http://bible.com/111/psa.37.4.niv). I believe there are things we desire that aren’t inherently evil or sinful that God will give us the opportunity to have in this life. I think the deeper meaning of this verse is how God by His Spirit transforms the heart of man and gives us new desires that not only give us pleasure, but also glorify Him at the same time. So as we deepen our relationship with that special someone or are in search of that someone, it is important that we stay in a state of allowing the power and love of God to continually transform us on the inside in order for our desires to glorify Him.
In celebration of true love that comes from God, I want to take us back to 2004 to a rapper by the name of Breathe Eazy. He dropped this album entitled “Baby Food”. The overall theme of the album is about growing in our walk with Christ from eating baby food to eating strong meat. Part of that growth is growing in our love for others. So enjoy this little shout out to all the lovers out there and let us know what you think.
Peace and blessings.
