The Big Decision | @ryanmw92 @trackstarz

What’s going on everyone!! Man, this week has been CRAZY!! I had a huge day Sunday, and then my birthday was Tuesday, and I mainly want to hone in on Sunday. I got baptized!! It was a big decision for me, just like it is for anyone who takes the step of baptism. It is not a choice to take lightly, but one of the most joyous decisions a person can make.

Baptism is a beautiful picture of the transition from death to life. Before, we were sinners, dead in our sins, but Jesus, our ever present hope and help, died and rose from the dead for our sins and for us to spend eternity with Him. When we go down into the water, it signifies leaving our past nature in the grave. When we come back up from the water, it signifies being resurrected to new life with Jesus.

To be very honest, I was nervous about getting baptized. It was kind of nerve racking because I knew that because of this decision, I would have to let go of things that I knew kept me from God’s best, and quite frankly, I didn’t know if I wanted to fully let go. But that is the most beautiful part of the gospel. That even when we aren’t sure, God still cares and loves us, and just tells us to step out on faith and watch our faith be perfected through Him. It was because of that thought and love that I didn’t back out.

God isn’t asking us to be perfect. He doesn’t even get mad that we may have reservations about faith, and that’s freeing!! What He is asking though, is for us to not be selfish with our lives, and then to watch what He does with our open hands of surrender. If you haven’t yet, I’d strongly suggest to get baptized and to actively pursue your walk with Jesus. It will be the best decision you have ever made!!

Much Love,

Ryan W.
