Move Your Emotions | #MarriageMonday | @Chicangeorge @Trackstarz

This past weekend, I was moving my family into our new house in Georgia (Praise God). Of course, as many of you know, moving can be a challenge on the nerves. There were several times when my wife and I bumped heads and got frustrated. After the move, we reevaluated the move and realized what we did wrong. When we got married, we established we both had roles within the house. One way we say it is there are two “MAN” in our house. There is myself, who is the MAN OVER that God set over the house. I deal with the responsibility of bills, spiritual responsibility, and physical actions. Where she is the (wo) MAN OF the house, is with maintaining the house operations- the children, groceries, etc. Let it be known that we share roles at times to help each other out, but its better that someone is primarily over those tasks. This helps to establish help and boundaries. Well… for the move… we forgot that. I stepped on her toes about decor issues and she stepped on my toes about loading and unloading things. We got emotional and got into small disagreements. We then understood that going forward that we should never allow our emotions to get into the way of us “moving forward” in life. Learn to respect each other’s roles and don’t get emotional if your spouse tries to help you. Remember to move your emotions out and move teamwork in. Spread The Soup!
