“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.”

‭‭James‬ ‭1:2-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Tests, trials and just circumstances due to living happen to us all of the time. We’re living and things are going to happen to us on all different levels. Someone is going through something catastrophic while someone is just dealing with a bad headache. The incident in and of itself does the most damage in how impacts you on the inside. How you deal with it mentally, emotionally and physically.

Our enemy, the devil, continues to use things as opportunities present and persuade us to forsake God and do evil. God is using them as opportunities to work things together for our good. If we let them circumstances can distract us or sway us from our faith. For me, I had the death of my father. It was a struggle and still is sometimes, but I know that my faith in Christ is what is keeping me stable.

As a christian I don’t see how unbelievers do it. I know the human will is pretty strong, but it definitely has its limitations. You’re going to hit a wall. Your will and emotions are going to hit their peak. There is no extra gear. You’re totally tapped out. I think that’s when we see people go postal and shoot up places, commit suicide or go into deep depressions and addiction. You’ve reached the limit of your human will.

As the Bible says THANKS BE TO GOD!!! His Holy Spirit living on the inside of us gives eternal extra gears. He gives us strength that we can’t muster up on our own, peace that surpasses all of our understanding and joy unspeakable and full of glory. The world and circumstances of this life tend to trick us and cause us not to realize how much we really have in Christ. All that God has for us and all that He has promised to us in an abundant life in Christ Jesus. He’s not holding any of this back from us. He wants to give us all that He has. Think about this God is going to spend eternity showing us His kindness towards. That’s amazing! All I have to say that is GIMME DAT!

That leads us to our Throwback Song of the Week. We’re coming over to the east coast to a CHH legend. Not only as a solo artist, but a founding member of the legendary Cross Movement. The one. The only. The Ambassador. I’m sure like myself there are plenty of believers who have had their faith strengthened through the music of this brother. The featured song is called “Gimme Dat!” ‘and is from his 2008 project “The Chop Chop: From Milk To Meat”. Tune into the Trackstarz show this week to hear DJ Jeremaya play this for the Throwback Song of the Day. Until next time…

Peace and blessings,

Damo
