Get out of Comfort | @ryanmw92 @trackstarz

Hey whatsup everyone!! I hope you all are having a great week so far. This week, I wanted to challenge everyone to step out of our comfort zones. Real life begins when we break out of comfort, and dare to go for what we dream and what God has placed in our hearts. I have a crazy story to tell.

So, I was at the Lecrae concert a few days ago. It was lit no doubt about it. The concert experience was phenomenal, without a doubt. However, the highlight really came after the concert. Outside the venue, there was a gentleman with a microphone reading the Bible and speaking out against lecrae and other people, saying that they preached a false gospel. At first, I thought nothing of it. After the concert let out, I had a tugging on my heart to go listen and talk to the street preacher. He was saying some crazy statements, such as that if we have nice things like nice shoes and what not, then we are not of God. I began to explain to him that God desires the heart, and if He really is our treasure, that’s the main goal. I also explained to the preacher about the part of grace and that we can’t beat people over the head with religion, which he passionately disagreed. Long story short, we ended up praying for each other despite our differences.

I say that to say this. When we break out of our comfort zones, that leaves it up to God to do the impossible, what we never could imagine or understand. We have to come to the end of our own human understanding, and dare to leave the results to God, and to dream big again. Comfort only leads to stagnation, and as believers, we need to be consistently growing. Not to blow me up, but I believe if I had not went with that tugging from the Holy Spirit, the seed would not have been planted in the preacher’s life, or the other man who was listening.

We need to really recognize that miracles don’t happen in the comfort zone. When we pray for the miracles, dare to believe it. Try something new, be bold in what you believe, don’t be afraid to fail. These statements are so key because they challenge us to step out on faith out of our little Christian box. Break free from the spirit of normalcy and the status quo. My friend Brad told me today, “Ryan, don’t wait on someone’s approval. Go for what you desire, and do it with wisdom.” This hit me so hard because all lot of times, I get so caught up in staying where I am, that I diminish the fact that God is a miracle working God,  who thrives in the humanly impossible. “With God, all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).

Life is so full of mysteries. We have two choices, live with passion and dare to step out of comfort into the unknown and watch God do exceedingly and above all we could ask or think, OR we could be just okay with where everything is, and miss out on the miracles that come with getting out of the comfort zone. I challenge all of us to do something we’re not comfortable with. Let’s trust God with the unknown, and let’s step out in faith and let God guide us. I bet that when we do that, our lives will be more effective and our light will shine bright for the world to see what an amazing Father we have.

Love y’all,

Ryan W.
