Thoughts For A Young Preacher | @coachdpolite @trackstarz

A little while ago, I jotted down a few of my thoughts about preaching the Gospel for a young preacher. I began as a young preacher, in my early twenties, and have been preaching for over 14 years now. I have had my share of ups and downs, which have led to me learning many lessons to help me as I go forward, and to share with others. Over the next few articles, I will share my brief advice to any young person who believes they are called to preach the Gospel.

Preaching the Gospel is noble

Romans 10:13-15 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” 14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!”

You cannot call on the LORD if you have not believed. You cannot believe if you have not heard. You cannot hear without a preacher. The role of the preacher is an important role. It is a necessary role in the kingdom of GOD. Furthermore, the scriptures state that the feet of those that preach the gospel are beautiful feet. One can get caught up in the hype of being a preacher because it is a very big deal. GOD considers it to be very major.

1 Timothy 5:17 says that elders who rule well are worthy of double honor, ESPECIALLY those who labor in preaching and teaching.

Preaching the Gospel is indeed a noble feat. This actually may be something that experienced preachers need to be reminded of as well.

Grace and peace.
