Sterling Talks About “Escape” In His Single | @trackstarz

Independent Christian artist and producer, Sterling Q. Davis introduces himself to the Christian hip-hop community with his first official single “ESCAPE,” which is available now for streaming and purchase on all major digital music outlets. Davis – the 25 year old South Carolina native – mentions that this song is very special to him. He explains, “I wrote this song from a place of mental frustration in my life. Even with things going well for me, I still dealt with frustration and regrets due to certain aspects of life not going the way I hoped for. This was also a time where I started to have certain doubts in my relationship with God, and rather than getting help by talking with loved ones, praying to God, reading scripture, etc. I would do other things to keep me entertained in hopes to escape the pain of my reality – they ultimately would never satisfy me though.” He further explains that after wrestling with many emotions, he came to the only reality that he could hold onto: throughout the ups and downs in his life, Jesus Christ – the one who gave him new life – was still present with him regardless of his struggles. As he puts it in his single, “…There’s no way that I can live without trusting the one who would die for sin-filled people, and then he would rise again, and still have grace with the state that my mind is in…” Davis hopes that the listeners will grasp this one reality that gave him peace. Paired with Davis’s blend of dark melodies and intricate flow, this is a smooth, introspective, Christian hip-hop ballad that we hope you enjoy. Grace and peace to you.
