Nate McGahee |Album Review and Return| (@natemcgahee @trackstarz @jasonbordeaux1)

Trackstarz artist Nate McGahee, fka N8, announced his return to music during the relaunch of the Trackstarz radio show on Feb 6th. Nate released his “Radiance” album in the latter part of last year and it was received with much love. He has performed at live shows and even shared the stage with Brinson during an opening for Andy Mineo from Reach Records. After taking a few months off from music, he was welcomed back with open arms and I was fortu’NATE‘ enough to ask him a few questions.

Q. Which of the songs means most to you and why?

A. Dear Alcohol is probably the closest one to my heart because it’s a letter to alcohol/Satan. I’ve had friends ruin their lives by drinking and some have died in car crashes by drinking and driving, which breaks my heart, so I needed to express my heart on that one.

Q. Which is your favorite song to perform?

A. It’s probably a tie between Barz and Get Ya Dance On. Barz has a shock factor that makes the crowd go crazy which is awesome but Get Ya Dance On has a lot of crowd involvement and I’m all about crowd involvement.

Q. Was there an overall theme or message for Radiance that you were wanting to get across to the listeners?

A. “Radiance” is from the verse Hebrews 1:3, “The Son is the Radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful Word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the majesty in heaven.” I wanted people to see how awesome our God is by taking them from a dark feel to light feel, representing getting saved.

Q. Are you planning to do any shows anytime soon?

A. Yes! I’m actually in the process of booking shows right now. I did a show in Cleveland, TN and I’m working on some stuff in Philadelphia as well. Many more dates and cities to come!

Q. Who are some artists you would like to collab with soon outside of Trackstarz?

A. I definitely have some dream collabs but my pocket wouldn’t like that. Haha. I would love to work with Andy Mineo, John Givez, or Family Force 5.

Q. What is your number one piece of advice for those coming into the music industry?

A. The music industry is tough. Don’t compare yourself to anyone. Make music, love people, love God. Your calling is different than other people, so therefore go and make excellent music.

Here is a song from the album, featuring Collision Records Alex Faith.
