“Purple Heart” dropped today, April 8th and is God Over Money’s second album to be released this year. If you are familiar with Sevin at all, you already know his music is raw and directly points to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The album has the GOM team on it along with Illumi Nate, Eric C, Sheena, Lavoisier, and Angie Rose. This whole album deserves your time and attention all the way through. Sevin discusses the war we have with the enemy, while giving God Glory and thanks.
I want to share a couple of my personal favorites.
- “Righteous War (feat Illumi Nate)” is the first single off the album. It is an anthem to those who are sharing the Gospel in the midst of trouble. Whether that is physical or spiritual. He explains the war that we are in with the enemy and how we can overcome those obstacles thrown in our way.
- “Im Wit it (feat Datin, Bumps Inf, and Bizzle)” might be a preview for Martyrs in the Making 3. It has the majority of the label on it and Datin says at the end of his verse, “Yo Sev, I think we just gave them a preview of Martyr in the Making 3.” If it is anything like this song, then we have something to look forward to for sure.
- “If I Could” is the relationship song of “Purple Heart.” Sevin discusses spending more time with God before engaging in a relationship. He shares the importance of growing closer to God more so than other people. This is a great song for the person struggling with being single and how they should keep their focus on Jesus.
- “Broken Mirror (feat Bizzle)” is a great way to finish out the album. Bizzle starts it off by addressing those who attack his method of music. Sevin continues by explain how they are not perfect and why they carry themselves the way they do.
This album is an anthem for those who are preaching the Gospel in rough territories and standing strong. I can’t help but hear it and want to go out and share the Gospel with all those around me. Go and buy this album today and support Sevin, the Hog Mob/ God Over Money movement.
