GREELEY, CO – DECEMBER 21 2017

121m Record’s Artist “Russell Sickler” has announced his first EP to be released 01/21/2017.  The single released 10/21/2017, and has gained attention from fans around the globe.  Followers from the US, India, the UK, Philippines, and plenty more have been anticipating the release.

“Bearded Lies” is based around a barber shop theme in artwork, and the songs on the talk that happens in the chair.  For many, barbershop talk was a place of growth.  Wisdom being passed down from the older generation to the younger, with light hearted banter in-between.

The name behind Bearded Lies comes from wordplay around the EP concept.  “Bearded”, is not only amassed facial hair, but also means “to confront boldly.”  Russell felt there were truths that needed to be exposed, and uncover lies that we are presented with in Society, and lies we tell ourselves.

Bearded Lies was recorded in Greeley, Colorado with producer Chris “WeaklingChris” Sickler, and Colin Ludeman (Roots like Mountains).  It contains features from Ty Brasel, Loso, Devon Hildebrandt, Maddy Rose, and more.

About Russell Sickler:

With a different story than most, Russell started rapping in September of 2009.  He grew up in an area essentially void of Hip Hop, as there’s not a whole lot of exposure on a goat farm in the eastern plains of Colorado.  2007 Acquire the Fire teen conference changed quite a bit for Russell.  This was when he first claimed his faith as his own, signed up to be in a mission’s field, and watched rap veteran group “Grits” perform on stage.  Moved by the experience, he sought to learn more about this newly experienced genre.  From dabbling in beatbox, breakdance, a new acquaintance from Russell’s local church invited him into an indie rap group.  8 years later, Russell still has a heart for evangelism, and using Hip Hop as an art form to spread the Gospel.
