Remembering DJ Official | @Chicangeorge @Trackstarz

That’s a pretty creative name. That’s what I was thinking when I was first introduced to DJ Official via Da Truth’sGo” track that was off “The Faith” album. Being heavily influenced by an east coast style, DJ Official’s muddy drums and horns mixed with Da Truth’s bars helped me to “GO” to the CHH side of music. After that track, I kept up with him. I was always big on DJs that were producers. I also learned that not only was he great at both of those professions, but he was great at being a loyal friend and mentor. He was one of the first DJs that I saw go all in for the Lord on a major scale. I always heard how many of my favorite DJs always put DJ Official’s name in the mix for their top DJs.

Later, he went on to “Entermission,” which showed his true balance of sound and styles giving us tracks like “Streets of New York,” “Not my Own,” “Chisel me,” “On my 116,” and many more on the album. Even covered all types of gene as well from Hip Hop to Drum & Bass to Reggae to R&B. This was not only a great album of collabs, but a great soundtrack for believers to do the great commission.

Not just the CHH community, but music itself will miss DJ Official. He impacted DJs, Producers, Artists and fans of music globally. One thing that I always admired about him was his faithfulness to those that started with him. His story of starting with today’s legends, because he saw their potential early, shows signs of being a true taste maker/gate-keeper and example of God’s hand on us as we are trying to figure out our purpose. Whether you realise it or not, DJ Official has effected you through his contributions to CHH, whether you have heard of him or not. If you want to help to continue to build and support his legacy, please support by purchasing his projects or donating to his family. We will miss you DJ Official and thank you for being a true definition of your name and being an “official” DJ for Christ. Spread The Soup!
