Lead With Compassion #TBT | Throwback Theology | #CamThePlatform @damo_seayn3d @trackstarz

“For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for self-indulgence, but through love become slaves to one another. For the whole law is summed up in a single commandment, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” If, however, you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:13-15‬ ‭NRSV‬‬

Recently in media there’s been some stories about celebrities dealing with the church. Not that this hasn’t happened before, but when it does it’s always interesting to me to see how the celebrities deal with it.

I know we look up to them and oftentimes put them on pedestals, but at the end of the day they are regular people just like us. We tend to make the rules for dealing with the situations of life different for celebrities than we would for ourselves or our neighbors. We might have a little more grace if a friend or a family who makes a mistake or falls into sin than we would if we see a story on TMZ of someone famous doing the same thing.

Sin is no more or less sin based on your status. Whether you’re famous or not sin is all the same. Regardless, of your status we are all in need of a savior and redemption through Christ finished work on the cross. While we make our stand for righteousness it is just as important that we lead with compassion to help restore our brothers and sisters.

Sin has to be dealt with, but we must be agents of compassion healing. As ambassadors we have the ministry of reconciliation. We are to help lead people back to God who have gone astray. A lot of times we look at people’s faults and start to bash them. Jesus said we are to be wise as serpents and gentle as doves. Let us share the goodness of the Lord and make disciples.

That leads us to our Throwback Theology Song of the Week. It from the artist Cam and his 200 project entitled “The Platform.” The featured track is called “Disciple Me.” Tune into the Trackstarz show this week to hear DJ Jeremaya spin this for the Throwback Theology Song of the Day. Until next time…

Peace and blessings,
