DESIGN DEPARTMENT

Position Title: Graphic Designer, contracted

Job Description:
A graphic designer produces visual solutions to the communication needs of clients, using a mix of creative skills and commercial awareness. Designers need imaginative flair, awareness of current fashions in the visual arts, working knowledge of the latest computer packages and an understanding of material costs and time limits, all of which can impact on the design.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
Meeting clients to discuss their needs
Interpreting the client’s business needs
Gathering information and data to clarify design issues
Thinking creatively to produce new ideas
Multi-tasking: graphic designers often work on more than one design at a time
Create or enhance client projects including but not limited to logos, social media pages, flyers, album design or business cards
Producing accurate and high quality work
Time Commitment:
Graphic designers are expected to spend 20 hours a week on design projects. These projects include both Trackstarz and third party client design.
Salary:
Graphic design for Trackstarz provides a supplemental learning experience and is unpaid. Graphic designers are paid 50% of the cost charged to the client for contracted work.

Position Title: Web Designer, contracted
Status: open
Job Description:
Web designers are responsible for the layout, visual appearance and usability of a website.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
Working closely with a customer or client at the design stage
Producing a design that will be attractive to the target user, has a logical navigation system and has all the features required;
Writing web pages in a combination of codes, such as hypertext mark-up language (HTML), JavaScript, Action script, ColdFusion, Java, Perl and Flash;
Deciding on how images and other material will be digitally optimized and presented for the web;
Testing the site for functionality in different browsers and at different resolutions
Fixing errors
Ensuring that marketing representatives are equipped to perform monthly maintenance on existing Trackstarz websites and other social networking pages including Twitter, Youtube, Instagram and Facebook
Time Commitment:
Web designers are expected to spend 10 hours a week maintaining existing Trackstarz websites and 10 hours on client projects when needed.
Salary:
Web design for Trackstarz provides a supplemental learning experience and is unpaid. Web designers are paid 50% of the cost charged to the client for contracted work.

RADIO DEPARTMENT

Position Title: Sound Engineer, internship
Status: open
Job Description:
The sound engineer operates machines and equipment to record, synchronize, mix, or reproduce music, voices, or sound effects in the studio and remote locations.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
Confer with producer, performers and others department leads in order to determine and achieve the desired sound for a production such as a musical recording or a film
Mix and edit voices, music, and taped sound effects for live performances and for prerecorded events, using sound mixing boards
Record speech, music, and other sounds on recording media, using recording equipment
Regulate volume level and sound quality during recording sessions, using control consoles
Reproduce and duplicate sound recordings from original recording media, using sound editing and duplication equipment
Separate instruments, vocals, and other sounds, then combine sounds later during the mixing or post-production stage
Set up, test and adjust recording equipment for recording sessions and live performances; tear down equipment after event completion
Synchronize and equalize prerecorded dialogue, music, and sound effects using control consoles
Create musical instrument digital interface programs for music projects, commercials or film post-production.
Keep logs of recordings
Prepare for recording sessions by performing activities such as selecting and setting up microphones
Report equipment problems, and ensure that required repairs are made
Time Commitment:
Sound engineers will spend 15 hours per week including 6 hours at the studio on Saturdays and up to 9 hours per week at remote locations.
Salary:

SALES DEPARTMENT

Position Title: Sales Account Manager
Status: open
Job Description:
The sales account manager’s primary responsibility is to create and to develop ongoing business relationships with our clients through sponsorship. The sales account manager works closely with each department and leads the team of sales account representatives.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
Create, implement and execution of sales plan
Be able to personally present a promotional package to a client and close a sponsorship deal
Ensure Sales Account Representatives are well-equipped to secure sponsorships
Time Commitments:
A Sales Account Manager is required to spend as much or little time as necessary to secure sponsorships.
Salary:
The sales account manager will receive 14% of the charge to each new client, 8% on repeat business, and 2% on new and repeat sales from account representatives. Internship credit may also be available.

Position Title: Sales Account Representative

Job Description:
The Sales Account Representative’s primary responsibility is to create and to develop ongoing business relationships with our clients.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
Responsible for the implementation and execution of the sales plan
Be able to personally present a promotional package to a client and close a sponsorship deal
Ensure repeat business with clients
Time Commitments:
A sales account representative is required to spend as much or little time as necessary to secure sponsorships.
Salary:
Sales Account Representative will receive 12% commission of the charge to each new client and 6% commission on repeat business. Internship credit may also be available.

MUSIC DEPARTMENT

Position Title: DJ, internship
Status: open
Job Description:
Tasks/Responsibilities:
Announces radio program of musical selections in studio and at live remotes
Selects music to be played based on program specialty, knowledge of audience taste, or listening audience requests
Comments on music and other matters of interest to audience, such as weather, time, or traffic conditions
May interview musical personalities
May interview members of listening audience who telephone musical requests.
Time Commitment:
DJs are required to spend 10 hours per week including 6 hours in the studio and 4 hours at live remotes when necessary.
Salary:
Internships provide a supplemental learning experience for the student. All internships with Trackstarz and its subsidiaries are unpaid. DJs will receive compensation for contracted work.

Position Title: Producer, internship
Status: open
Job Description:
A producer works closely with the sound engineer and on-air talent to creatively construct, organize and inform others of the order and flow of the radio show and live remotes.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
Confer with sound engineer, performers, and others in order to determine and achieve the desired sound for a production such as a musical recording or a film
Produce working outline/tech sheet for hosts, sound engineer and DJ to follow
Attend live remotes, weekly meetings, and studio during weekly broadcasts as necessary
Keep logs of recordings.
Prepare for recording sessions by performing activities such as selecting and setting up microphones or as needed from sound engineer.
Time Commitment:
Producer will spend up to 15 hours per week including 6 hours at the studio on Saturdays and up to 9 hours per week at remote locations.
Salary:

PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPARTMENT

Position Title: Director of Public Relations, internship
Status: Open
Job Description:
Engage in promoting or creating good will for Trackstarz by writing or selecting favorable publicity material and releasing it through various communications media. May prepare and arrange displays, and make speeches.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
Prepare or edit organizational publications for internal and external audiences, including employee newsletters and sponsorship reports.
Respond to requests for information from the media or designate another appropriate spokesperson or information source
Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with representatives of community, consumer, employee, and public interest groups
Plan and direct development and communication of informational programs to maintain favorable public and sponsor perceptions of Trackstarz’ accomplishments and agenda
Confer with the marketing director to produce or coordinate production of advertisements and promotions
Arrange public appearances, lectures, contests, or exhibits for clients to increase product and service awareness and to promote goodwill
Study the objectives, promotional policies and needs of Trackstarz to develop public relations strategies that will influence public opinion or promote ideas, products and services
Confer with other leaders in each department to identify trends and key group interests and concerns or to provide advice on business decisions
Consult with advertising agencies or staff to arrange promotional campaigns in all types of media for products, organizations, or individuals
Coach client representatives in effective communication with the public and with employees
Prepare and deliver speeches to further public relations objectives
Plan and conduct market and public opinion research to test products or determine potential for product success, communicating results to client or management.

Position Title: Publications Editor, internship

Job Description:
A publications editor ensures that the Trackstarz newsletter and other publications are full of entertaining, informative and newsworthy articles.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
Generating topics for articles and encouraging a team of staff to do the same
Holding regular features meetings where the whole department generates new ideas
Deciding which feature will appear in which issue
Commissioning an in-house or freelance writer to write a feature
Editing features and ensuring they are good enough to print – this may include sending work back to the writer with queries or a request for a rewrite
Researching and rewriting features/sections
Working with graphic and web designer to provide illustrations and visual appeal to publications
Proofreading all pages after the production team has set them out before going to press
Maintaining and raising the profile of the newsletter
Networking with others in the industry
Attending photo shoots
Time Commitment:

MARKETING DEPARTMENT

Position Title: Marketing Director, internship

Job Description:
Responsible for developing and maintaining marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives. Evaluates customer research, market conditions, competitor data and implements marketing plan changes as needed. Oversees all marketing, advertising and promotional staff and activities.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
Responsible for the marketing of professional online recruiting services tailored exclusively to the sales and marketing industry.
Develops monthly marketing plan in conjunction with sales department, which details activities to follow during the month, which will focus on meeting organizational objectives.
To manage the Marketing Department Budget. Delivery of all marketing activity within agreed budget. Direction of marketing staff where budgets are devolved
Manage all aspects of print production, receipt and distribution.
Purchase advertising space and time as required to promote client’s product or agenda
Developing and implementing a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.

Distribute promotional materials as needed
Implement marketing campaign under the direction of the marketing director

BOOKING DEPARTMENT

Position Title: Booking Specialist, internship

Job Description:
Ensure live remotes and sponsor events are carried out in excellence.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
Secure venue locations for live remotes and sponsor upon request
Plan date and time and concept of events
Execute event within parameters set including budget given by marketing director
Contact third-party services as needed and maintain positive relationships for future
Create, distribute and maintain the Trackstarz Calendar of events and internal calendar for Trackstarz employees
Time Commitment:
